Founder’s Note By Beverly Vanterpool, Founder of Career Sistas and Author of Build Your Table
February has been a month filled with powerful stories, bold ideas, and women who continue to redefine what’s possible across the US, UK, and the Caribbean. From AI and tech to entrepreneurship, publishing, and data science, the latest episodes of Stories by Career Sistas have been some of our most inspiring yet. Each guest brought honesty, strategy, and lived experience—reminding us why representation, visibility, and shared learning matter so deeply.
Alongside these conversations, I’m excited to share that we are building something new: a digital magazine that will bring to life the lessons, insights, and real career journeys shared on the podcast, in my book Build Your Table, and across our wider community. This debut issue will feature two separate directories designed to elevate and spotlight our community:
- A Business Directory highlighting inclusive founders and businesses across industries.
- A Coaches Directory focused specifically on career support—coaches, mentors, and practitioners helping others grow professionally.
Both directories are free to join for the first issue, and the submission deadline is in early March. The links to participate are included below. And if you’re not personally an entrepreneur or coach, please feel free to share this opportunity with a friend, colleague, or community member who runs an inclusive business or offers career support. Visibility is powerful—let’s spread it widely.
We’re also continuing to build our online community space—a place for deeper connection, shared learning, and collective growth. On a personal note, I celebrated one of those milestone birthdays last month. I spent it in London surrounded by friends, great food, and gratitude. More than anything, I felt proud that I made the decision to start this journey—and thankful that you’re here, growing with me, learning with me, and building alongside me.
